This scenario is apparently triggered as I used the DATASEC variable where according to IRAF conventions a DETSEC should appear in the FITS headers. And my TRIMSEC would be DATASEC, essentially. After that modification, the (implied) FITS dictionary seems to meet the DS9 expectations. Richard
