Digons (two-sided polygons) with a positive area exist on the 2-sphere
(and dihedrons exist on the 3-sphere). However, the proposal seems to deal
with the pixel space in the tangent plane, so m >= 3 would be a
reasonable constraint to reduce the chance of accidental programming
errors.
