In keeping with the season I would simply write "Fear not".
Interested parties are referred to the fitsmime archive for the full
discussion so far. Taking all of that into account I have already
made significant changes to the draft, and I will publish a new
version early in the new year.
I note that both the American and the European Virtual Observatory
communities are engaged in preprations for significant demonstrations
in January. I consider that the draft cannot be ready for submission
to the RFC editor until after the VO communities have had time to turn
their attention and see if it satisfies those needs. As a result I
expect that no formal action on the draft will be undertaken for yet a
month.
I send thanks to all for the input so far, and I welcome any more.
Watch for the announcement of the new version.
