[fitsbits] FITS to BMP or JPG conversion

Hello,
  I'm developing an application which can be used to display FITS image
files and then save it in BMP,JPG or any other common image format using
JAVA. This is part of my final year individual project at the
University. I desperately need help with the second part of the
application. Any useful ideas and/or suggestions are very welcome.
