[fitsbits] NOST 100-2.0 approved by FITS regional committees

Dear friends of FITS,

On 1999-10-01 Peter Teuben announced that the North American [WGAS]
FITS Committee voted 17-0-2 (yes-no-abstain) to accept the NOST
100-2.0 document "Definition of the Flexible Image Transport System
(FITS)" [*] as the proposed FITS standard.

On 1999-11-24 Osamu Kanamitsu announced that the Japanese FITS
Committee voted 12-0-1 to accept NOST 100-2.0.

Today, 1999-12-17, Preben Grosbol informed me that the European FITS
Committee has voted 9-0-1 in favor of adopting NOST 100-2.0.

Therefore, all three regional FITS committees having approved the
proposal, I have submitted the document to the IAU FITS Working Group
[IAU-FWG] to consider it for final approval as the FITS standard.
