I normally just lurk on this NG as I only have a passing interest in FITS.
But this conversation about time has been very interesting. Basically, I was
unaware of the many different standards of time that there obviously seems
to be. I was under the impression that UTC = GMT and that this time standard
was the proverbial "it" when it came to precision time. I am apparently wrong.
Many types of time have been thrown about by their abbreviations (TT, TAI,
TCG, TDB, etc...) and I was wondering if there's an online resource where I
could learn all about them.
Thanx in advance. :)
