We will not be installing a VLITE formatter this week. We will install two next week, (#6 and #7)

Hi All,

The data are now spectacular! The data on 3C273 are really much cleaner than and I had seen before. Below are the delay solutions
for the 3C273 before Walter put them in VLITE. We saw beautiful phase wraps before the delays were corrected then the next scan
everything was smooth.

I've been looking at some of the VLITE data now in AIPS. I see a repeating signal that comes in every 4 minutes. Would that be
the site radio identifying itself? I see the drop in the amplitude of the data across all channels at the same time stamp as the bright RFI is seen
in a few channels. In my WIDAR data from the VLA earlier this year I had seen the same 4 minute time scale drops, a good diagnostic to keep in mind I guess.
I know the time stamps to within 2s so if someone knows something that has a 4 minute known signal I can check timing.

Walter and I have both made images of 3C273, and are happy to report it appears to be a point source (image attached). I have something like 140:1
dynamic range in the first image (I think Walter got higher). For this image there is no self-cal applied but I did calculate and apply the delays for the antennas since this was prior to Walter putting them in.

Once we have some more data in hand we can look in more detail at the amplitudes in the two polarizations since we have been seeing some
evidence of different levels for at least one of the antennas (ea6).

Thank you NRAO for throwing all the big guns at this and Mike and Walter for bringing the fringes back. Let the games begin!

Cheers,

Tracy
