John reportedly fixed this yesterday, but it happened again a couple
hours ago, so here goes:

A fetch of EVLA data from the archive starts up, no error msg, but:

(a) sends an email saying data is complete - this is quick (too quick?)

(b) starts a file "<name>.loading" in the requested output area,
     but never fishishes writing it - neither the sdm nor the requested
     uvfits appear.
