[evlatests] [evla-sw-discuss] mctest and mchost

updating mchost will almost certainly involve more work, as there are 
some executables run from there that may break (obs2script and the 
pointing program come to mind immediately).

i don't think we should delay this, just be prepared for a bit more 
downtime while we figure things out.
