i tested planet tracking yesterday by looking at venus at X-band. as far as i can tell, both modes of tracking, with the internal ephemeris, and by specifying a polynomial, work, and work equally well. i would like to do one more test, at higher frequency, before signing off on this, but it looks pretty good at this point. -bryan
