[evla-sw-discuss] Database Upgrades on Wednesday 7/8

The monitor and parameters databases will be upgraded from Oracle
10g to Oracle 11g on Wednesday 7/8. The upgrade should take most
of the day and during that time, the databases evlamon and
evlaparm will not be available.

The operators will switch the executor to the parmback database
during the upgrade. Monitor data will still be loaded to monstdby
on mc2host and you may access these data via:

https://mctest.evla.nrao.edu/monstdby-monquery/

It would be best not to make any changes to antenna parameters
during this upgrade. If you need to do something critical, you
may update the parmback database. The same data will need to be
applied to evlaparm once the upgrade is complete. I will do
evlaparm first, and hope to have it available by noon.

If you have any questions, please let me know. This upgrade also
includes replacing the host (lando) with a newer machine with
more storage, allowing us to keep monitor data online for a
longer period of time.

Cheers,
Pat
