I just spoke with Stefan Wierzoch of Infineon.
He is responsible for marketing management of
microcontrollers. He stated that they expect
to have development boards in San Jose, CA
by 5/16 or 5/17/2002, and once they are
received, 3 of the boards will be FedExed
directly to us. The boards will be "complete",
including documentation.
I also asked if Infineon is committed to volume
production of the TC11IB chip. His answer was
yes, and that Infineon has already begun to ramp
up for production. Volume production is
expected for Q3 2002, and our initial expected
quantities of several hundred chips will present
them with no problems.
A question for consideration - even if the
development board arrives by Mon, 5/20,
should we continue some level of effort
to develop alternatives to the TC11IB chip ?
