As of this morning (Wed, 12/4/2002) it is fair to
say that the Nucleus PLUS rtos is up and running
on the TriBoard (the Infineon supplied TC11IB
development board). This statement can be taken
to mean that the rtos, the ethernet driver, the
network stack, the telnet server and the shell
have all been demonstrated to work. The shell
can be run using the serial port on the TriBoard,
and via a telnet session with I/O to/from the
shell over ethernet via the daughtercard.
Pete Whiteis played the lead role in meeting this
milestone, and he is to be congratulated for a
job very well done. Wayne Koski set a land speed
record for debugging the daughtercards needed
for the ethernet connection - 3 cards debugged and
made functional in a matter of a few hours, and
Accelerated Technology was very responsive on the
matter of the missing shell code, posting it to
Mentor's ftp site within less than an hour after
being made aware of the problem.
Our next goal is to move the rtos and associated
elements from external ram on the development board
the the 512KByte eDram area that is internal to the
TC11IB chip.
