[evla-sw-discuss] Why another list ?!*!?@?!!

Lately there have been a lot of email discussion
regarding the MIBs and the antenna computers.
I've gotten tired of trying to track who has
received what.  So, I've started a new list -
evla-sw-discuss.  I've kept the initial set of
list members small - Barry, Bruce, Kevin, Rich,
Ken, Wayne, George, myself, & Gustaaf.
The membership can be expanded as needed.

Before I go home this evening I will post some of
the more recent emails re MIBS to this list.  I
want to get some material on today as I will be
out this Thur (12/13) through Monday (12/17).
The list is open-subscription & unmoderated so 
please feel free to add any material I omit.

This list should also prove useful for material 
now being developed.  I have a short missive, still
in draft form, on the subject of the allocation
of functionality among the MIBs, devices, and the
antenna computer, and I know Wayne is also preparing
some material.  If the material is not in a form
convenient for direct posting as text, then it can
be placed on the Computer Working Documents web page
(http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/evla/techdocs/computer/workdocs/index.shtml)
and a pointer to it sent via this mailing list. 
To get it onto the web page, send the document to
me in .pdf format.
