Hi Victor,
I think you would be better initially trying to get this working from the command line before trying to use the GUI. It will be much easier to find the error.
Looking at your screen grabs, I cannot see any errors (other that the line saying “RETURNED ERRORS”). It looks to me like vex2difx did run OK and see now errors from difxcalc.
Regards
Chris

Hi Prof. Deller,
I am not sure if the images in the email will get through, I have put the images mentioned in the email into a public github repo: https://github.com/cyavictor88/difx_gui_test/
Thank you.
Victor

Hi Prof. Deller,
Thank you for your reply.
So I am using trying to run "Experiments" from the GUI, as shown in the image below:
<create_new_experiment.png>
As of now, I am trying 2 ways to run experiments with the repository's 'test-lsb.vex'
===================================================
Case 1: I use the repository's 'test-lsb.vex' and it generates a .v2d file in the tab "Final .v2d File". And when I click "Apply" in the New Experiment window, I will get the following messages. And I notice in the Experiment_1/Production_Pass directory, only the following files are present/created:
test-lsb.joblist test-lsb.vex
test-lsb.v2d
<generated_v2d_error.png>
===================================================
Case 2: I use the repository's 'test-lsb.vex' and the repository's 'test-lsb.v2d' to replace the generated v2d file in "Final .v2d File". When I click "Apply" in the New Experiment window, I will get the following messages. But I do notice that in the Experiment_1/Production_Pass directory, I can see the follow files are present/created:
test-lsb.calc test-lsb.im test-lsb.joblist test-lsb.vex
test-lsb.flag test-lsb.input test-lsb.v2d threads
<provided_v2d_error.png>
So in case 2, the error message shows vex2difx RETURN ERRORS, but it generated the needed files anyway, and the .im file is created, but somehow the GUI is showing it is still waiting for it.
Really appreciate any guidance or help and please do let me know if you need any more details. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Victor

Can you provide the details of the error message generated by difxcalc? (calcif2 is considerably more work to maintain, so I suggest using difxcalc for your model generation).

Hi all,
My name is Victor, a software engineer at National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT). I am new to VLBI and DiFx. I have created a 2-node DiFx cluster (v.2.8.1). I am able to use the provided synthetic test "test-lsb.vex" and the DiFx commands to get the final .fits file.
I am also able to run the guiServer, gui client, calcServer, mk5daemon (without actually having the mk5 hardware). On the gui client, I have the processor node shows up in the hardware monitor. Now I am trying to run "Experiments" from the GUI with the same synthetic test-lsb.vex file and generated vdif data. But when I execute the experiment, I ran into error on when running "calcif2" or "difxcalc" so the experiment stuck on waiting for the ".im" file. Also I am not sure where I can input the generated vdif data during the experiment. Appreciate any pointer or guidance. My goal is to see how an Experiment is run from start to finish. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Victor
