[daip] Problem trying to install AIPS 31DEC22 on Ubuntu 20.4.5 {External}

Hi,

I am trying to install AIPS on a Linux desktop computer running Ubuntu 20.4.5. The dialog is attached as an ascii text file. The installation quits, complaining that the Fortran compiler is "wimpy." I reinstalled gfortran (gfortran-9, calling it simply /usr/bin/gfortran), but get the same error message.

I would appreciate any help you can give me!
