I am in Socorro, NM and will be happy to assist remotely.  The process
is really pretty simple for a binary installation.  By the way, we now
fully support Intel and ARM versions of Macs.  The installation 
instructions
were written originally by Pat Murphy who is in Charlottesville.  He has
not worked on AIPS for some time although he does lurk on our daip
account.  He might be able to help you even on short notice.  I am
CC'ing him.
