[daip] star file and greys + X polarization CASA vs AIPS

Hi Eric,

You were correct in that there was a problem with a special character. Thanks so much. I wish I had contacted you earlier.

I have another question. A student of mine is trying to import a uv data set taken by ALMA. The data set is calibrated in all Stokes in CASA and has XX, YY etc polarizations.  He has used

uvfits converter in CASA 2 or 3 times but AIPS messes up  all of polarizations.  The problem is the conversion or mapping of  XX, YY etc  to RR, LL, LR etc. Is there a different definition? Is there something that he can do? We  need this data set because DFTPL does not exist in CASA.

Many thanks,

Farhad
