My old disk 1 is now disk 4. So the SAVE files are there, but it is not seeing them.
I did a test, copying one old SAVE file onto the new disk 1, but with the next number in the hexidecimal sequence. But of course the index cannot see it. Can I rebuild the index so it finds these new additions?
Option 2 is to "SG2RUN" the SAVE files from the new machine to preserve them, before moving the old ones and their index file into place.
(Option 3 is installing an old AIPS version on the old machine, but I would then still have to port the files over).
