I believe the format changed when the EVLA started up - i.e.the SDM 
rather than a ModComp format.  I don't have the ability to send you the 
code but it is simple.  See /home/AIPS/31DEC20/APL/PGM/FIXAN.FOR - it 
has a case statement on the OPTYPE and rather simple code.  I don't know 
where the formats were documented - the current one should be available 
in SDM documentation (although when I have looked that documentation 
left much to be desired).  There are old memos about the VLA but I don't 
know which would contain this info.
