This is almost certainly the error you have been getting all along. The
first stuff you sent is only AIPS finding out the XAS is not running.
Your Mac must have updated its OS which wipes out /etc/sysctl.conf. You
might have a copy of that file already in one of your directories. In
which case "sudo cp sysctl.conf /etc" Otherwise consult the aips
manager FAQ page (drag and drop does not work on my home computer). You
will need to reboot after putting this file in /etc. the command
"sysctl kern.sysv" will show you the current settings. Depending on how
big your screen is you will need kern.sysv.shmmax to be 10485760 or even
16777216
