Do not run the task in place - make a copy of the input with new weights.
Run PRTUV or UVPRT to see the weights that are produced. I think English is causing a problem. You
almost certainly want the ALMA baselines weighted higher not lower than the other baselines. The remark about downweighting the best antennas was made for data that had weights already set by the expected noise. In other words data that already had ALMA weighted 100 times more than the others. If all weights in your data are the same then you need to raise the weight of the ALMA baselines.
