Dear Dr. Greissen :

    I have try three values of shmmax for my new 16" mac :  25165824 (24*1024*1024), 33554432 (32*1024*1024), 50331648(48*1024*1024). However, TVSERVER still doesn't work.
When I started AIPS, I got error messages of 


AIPS 1: Enter user ID number
?XAS: ** TrueColor FOUND!!! 
XAS: ***  Using shared memory option for speed ***
XAS: Using screen width 1782 height 998,
     max grey level 8191 in 16 grey-scale memories
Shared memory id failure: Invalid argument


    Is there anything else that I could try to solve the shared memory problem ?   Thanks !
