[daip] Problems about open MSGSVR windows and how pop up tv window and reinstall

Dear Sir/Madam,


Thanks for reading my queries email. I'm a student from Shanghai 
Astronomical Observatory(Shao), China. I encountered some problems with 
my AIPS in (Ubuntu 18.04) Linux.  After reading FAQ and HELP(when 
running) and trying to looking helps from Cook Book, I still have no 
ideas  to deal with these problems. I hope I can attain assistance from 
you, thanks again!  The problems are put as followings.


1. Showing as the screen-snap, there is only a pop up window, tv, and 
nothing. But there should be a message window and other windows(?) 
simultaneously after I input and run command "aips tv=local", my tutor 
told me. BUT, For environment setting, I have put "

in my .bashrc file and also put"

in the /etc/services file following as the FAQ said. So finally I have 
no idea how to solve this issue...


2. If I click the close button on the right of tv window, is there any 
operation(command) for me to open this window again? (This is a bit like 
I don't know how to pop up the message window.)


3. If the 1st problem cannot be solved, the most likely method for me is 
to reinstall my AIPS in my Linux system. BUT it seems that I didn't find 
a proper way to delete this old one, cause I'm afraid that directly 
delete the AIPS directory(using for installation) is not right and might 
affect the next installation.


Sorry for my sudden bother to ask these bland questions. But I do have a 
problem...
