Your machine is MACINT.  It will not work with LNX64 Z routines.  The installation does have a problem. It unpacks correctly but the trick it uses for checkingthis fails.  I just restart install.pl and it detects that allis unpacked and goes on.When you get to the screen that shows the default compilerand its options you need to change several of them to thoseappropriate to gfortran/gcc.  The next issue you hit is the Makefilefor XAS.  It almost always fails and requires editing, esp whenchanging from Intel to Gnu.  It is not important and can be handledlater or on the side while the long compilation goes on.Did you try the grep command suggested?  It shows those subroutinesthat failed to compile.  It may be many of them since LNX64 is wrong. The INSTEP2.LOG file will show error messages.  Look at it also.Note that I have not tested AIPS under gfortran 8.x.  I have tested under7.x and it does NOT work - problems from gfortran 4.x have returned(dynamic pseudo AP fails totally, limits real memory sum of common to2 Gbytes).  We use gfortran 6.3 for LNX64 and my tests on Macs.I think I could get a gfortran to try but that may take a while.Eric Greisen
