Thank you for your timely response.

I tried the above mentioned steps, but I am getting following error:

/opt/local/compilers/gcc-6/bin/gcc  -D_BSD -DUSE_SHM -c -O3
-fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -I/home/subhrata/AIPS/31DEC18/INC
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DHAVE_LINUX_GLIBC -c xas.c
make: /opt/local/compilers/gcc-6/bin/gcc: Command not found
make: *** [Makefile:221: xas.o] Error 127
