Hi Eric

I cc to our sysadmin, since I don't have root access.

yes, aips is running, but when I start it I get very many (20-30) of
these messages, they appear both in the message server window and on the
terminal. This is quite annoying. The warnings also appear when I login
into 2 other computers, so it is not just my machine.

To answer your question:

ls -lt /homes/AIPS/31DEC19/LNX64/LIBR/INTELCMP/libtinfo.so.5

gives

-rwxr-xr-x 1 egreisen aips 134792 Aug 10 19:44
/homes/AIPS/31DEC19/LNX64/LIBR/INTELCMP/libtinfo.so.5

if run locate libtinfo.so.5, I get

/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5
/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5.9
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5.9
/lib32/libtinfo.so.5
/lib32/libtinfo.so.5.9

ls -lt /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 May 23 2018
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5 -> libtinfo.so.5.9

ls -lt /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5.9
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 170784 May 23 2018
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5.9

regards, Thomas
