Hi, Eric.   Just to close the loop:  yes, my first try at a uvdata file
must have not downloaded completely the first time.  I downloaded and
FITLDed a fresh one since yesterday and I am all set now.  Thanks
again.  -Ian

Eric:  Yes! The history did not show a problem but the messages do.
FITLD completed successfully but up among the messages is a
premature end-of-file.  My original download must have died before
     completing---very insidious!

Thank you very much for looking into it.  I am downloading a fresh
archive request as we speak and I'll let you know if I have any
trouble with it.  Otherwise, I think that you solved it.   -Ian

Hi, Eric.  When I am back in front of that machine this
afternoon, I'll look through the messages and history and get
         back to you.    -Ian

Were there no messages from FITLD indicating some sort of
             problem?
