[daip] High Sierra installation problems

I'm trying to finish a fresh install of AIPS on a MacBook running High Sierra. After installing without issue, adding the appropriate lines at the end of /etc/services and soft linking the library files in LIBR/INTELCMP to /usr/local/lib I get the following when starting aips (after  . ./AIPS/LOGIN.SH)

So the TV window opens ok but I don't see msgsrv or tksrv. The issue appears to be with libsvml.dylib if I local at /usr/local/lib the links are:
