You have 2 errors - the MS error is simply that aips assumes user 1 to 
start with and user 1 has not yet made a message file.  When you solve 
the 2nd issue, log in as user 1 with password AMANAGER and a message 
file will be created.  The more important one is the permission denied. 
I guess that the control files have been created but that the current 
account that you are using does not have write privilege on the control 
files.  You need to allow group write on the files in the DA00 area and 
all users must have that group as their primary or one of their 
secondary groups.
