Actually the messages show that you logged into the ftp server gygaxbut then did not log in to a computer that can run aips.  You havebeen assigned a node to use I assume.  You must log into thatnode from gygax.  Perhaps the issue is more complicated than that.What host name are you supposed to use?  And did you start aipsas       aips tv=localEric Greisen
