bdflist is an aips verb.  You use it inside aips not at the command line.
Therefore your $PATH is not relevant.  Inside aips type

inp bdflist

It should tell you stuff.  If not try a 

compress

command or if that fails

restore 0

then inp bdflist

I do warn you that obit on the cluster is way out of date.  You should
log in to a public machine (from nmpost023) such as megrez and run
aips there to get a modern version of bdflist which you will probably
require.  If all this fails send me the exact text of what you have on your
screen.
