[daip] Screwed up somehow

Hi Eric,

Everything seemed to be going too well in the install.  When I finished I got
the message:
AIPS_ROOT is not a directory; cannot start AIPS.

Then I looked, and found I still had everything for my previous version only.

The only new things I had were the various scripts START_AIPS, LOGIN.CSH, 
HOSTS.CSH, etc. 

There was no new directory for 31DEC16 either.

What did I do wrong?  And, How can I fix it?
