Dear Hiroko,

This ticket and the last one are in fact related, so I merged them.  There is a clue in the messages  you sent.  It says  you have to have the environmental variable DISPLAY set.  Is it?  Can you bring  up an AIPS TV on the machine you are sitting at?  A good resource is the AIPS manager FAQ, which you can find at: https://help.nrao.edu/staff/index.php?/Tickets/Ticket/View/8999/inbox/4/-1/-1 .  It talks about both these issues under "My TV still won't come up" and "My machine keeps asking for passwords".
