I just re-read your message and am shocked at how badly my mind is 
working while I am here not yet recovered from some bad bug.

You say weights to a BAD antenna are > 100 while others are 2-3.
Bad antennas should have LOW weight not high.  The weights in
the data are just that weights - one over sigma squared.  So bad should
be low weight, good high weight.  If this is reversed after REWAY then
bad things have happened in that process and strange imaging results
would be expected.
