Hi Amy: Hold off on downloading the complete data set.  I *did* try APCAL on that cut-down version and got 
the same error, so I don't think downloading the whole data set will make a difference.  I'll make sure I can reproduce the error here first.  However, I'm pretty busy with other stuff in the next week or two so I might not get to this quickly.
