I did not answer this because I am not a Mac expert and we no longer 
have same in the AIPS group.  I have depended on the main NRAO Mac guy 
for what little help I have gotten since Wes Young retired.  I will 
attach the fix_aips_elcap.sh file which you have to run under bash shell 
with sudo privilege.

The Mac web page for AIPS is a strange mixture of modern info and stuff 
one had to do very long ago but not recently.  I really need to work on 
it.  cvs is not part of X so I do not know where to get it.  I will poke 
around.
