Looking at the code, the phase that is put in is the sum over antennas of

PR(if) - PR(1) - PL(if) + PL(1) 

P = phase, R right hand, L left hand and the Ps come from the solutions for slopes
earlier in the task.  I wonder if this is correct or where it came from - I do not
remember.
