The standard units of velocity are m/s.  AIPS, in display, converts them to more user-friendly
units such as milli-meters/sec, km/s, or what have you.  If karma cannot handle m/s then
that is a karma problem.  AIPS lets one change things with puthead - maybe karma will too.
