Hi Eric, I have also made now ln -s /usr/X11/lib/libX11.6.dylib in /usr/local/lib (it was trying to find it in /usr/X11R6) and now tips works correctly, opening also TV.

In summary, what I have now in /usr/local/lib with AIPS 31DEC15 working fine within El Capitan is:

libX11.6.dylib -> /usr/X11/lib/libX11.6.dylib
libXext.6.dylib -> /usr/X11/lib/libXext.6.dylib
libimf.dylib -> /Users/jose-mariatorrelles/AIPS/31DEC15/MACINT/LIBR/INTELCMP/libimf.dylib
libirc.dylib -> /Users/jose-mariatorrelles/AIPS/31DEC15/MACINT/LIBR/INTELCMP/libirc.dylib
libsvml.dylib -> /Users/jose-mariatorrelles/AIPS/31DEC15/MACINT/LIBR/INTELCMP/libsvml.dylib
