We have created a $SYSMACIN/fix_aips_elcap.sh script which will
make link files in /usr/local/lib for the 3 intel files and the 2 
X-windows files.  This script is then mentioned in install.pl and 
the user given the chance to run it in a separate window before
continuing the installation.
