Thanks Eric - VLDE mode seem work and produce a coherent output SN table.  Not sure why VLMB fails. I just tried VLMB and VLDE on that same SN table.  The attached screenshot shows the IF1phase - IF4phase vs. time, with yellow being unsmoothed, green = 'VLMB', where things go wonky before 1d/0h, and pink being 'VLDE'.
