I find this grammar in START_AIPS and START_TVSERVERS only
so I will change it and hope for the best - we should see soon
if it causes failures in Macs or Linux. I did test it in START_AIPS
in both my really old Mac (gala) and my more recent laptop.

I don't really understand the grammar of your recommendation
but it does seem to work okay.
