I didn't see the first message:

The MNJ is the script in your $HOME area called
    do_daily.<hostname>
where <hostname> is either localhost or the name
of your computer depending on your answer to the "laptop" 
question.  It is NOT run automatically unless you set
up a cron job to do so.  I would not recommend that.
Instead you need to run this script once in a while
when the mood strikes.  If a binary install worked, I
suspect there should be no trouble running it.
