PCAL has an unfortunate characteristic in that it quits after 10 successive failed solutions.  This happens when there is insufficient SNR (typically on the edge channels for edge subbands, with narrow channel resolutions) for a solution to converge.  I suggest this limit be raised much higher, or perhaps simply set to infinity.
