I need to look over the code more to see if there is a way to avoid this 
failure, but it would seem that you are using CHARMULT 3 (168 pixels for 
8 character in x).  Some tasks do not defend themselves well against 
larger values of CHARMULT - try 2 instead.  Of course, I suggest EDITR 
in any case.
