The answer I suppose is the task BLANK.  But that may be complicated to use.

A trick that should work:
1. Run SUBIM to copy out the good parts (only) to 2 or more files with the same
   name/class but increasing sequence numbers.
2. Run MCUBE to put them back into a cube with the same lambda dimension
   as the initial cube.  MCUBE will blank the planes not included in your
  sub-images.
