I am not surprised by this.  The mode is not handled
correctly wrt rates and I am working on the code.  Since
most (all?) of the phase in these SN tables is due to
delay, it would be better to remove that phase with the
unsmoothed delays and replace it with that of the
smoothed ones.  Then maybe one does not need to
smooth phase at all.  I am working on that - then I will
at this latest thing.
