If the program is ignoring the frequency information or not dealing with it correctly, then you
are right, I can just average more. 

I'll add though, that the way the program fails if there are too many IFs or channels seems odd;
even with an excellent starting guess, on the first iteration all fit parameters become "NaN" and never
recover. And even if one freezes all the fit parameters, the reported post-fit statistics are all reported
as "NaN".
