Your $HOME area is a read-only file system. You are not allowed to write to it.
The BDF2AIPS function writes text files and log files to $HOME. Log in to an
account that allows you to write to $HOME. I suppose you could exit AIPS and
setenv HOME <someplace else>
export HOME=<someplace else>
depending on C shell or bash. then run aips and hope for the best. How can you run with
$HOME forbidden to you????
